From the library home page, select the Books tab on the Search box. You can then search for your topic and retrieve only records for books and ebooks.

Additionally if you would like to search for only physical books that are in the library bookstacks, you can limit your search by selecting "Physically in the Library" on the right side of the search panel:

WorldCat is the world's largest and most comprehensive catalog. You can search for millions of books on any topic, most of which are not available immediately at St. Edward's, but WorldCat is a good way to discover resources to support larger research projects like Capstone. For access to items not owned by our library request through Interlibrary Loan.

Interlibrary Loan

If the library does not own the book or have access to the full text of a journal article which you need, you can request the item through Interlibrary Loan. Access your Interlibrary Loan account or create a new one

Requests are placed using ILLiad, a web-based system. You must first create a user account to use ILLiad by logging in with your St. Edward's University username and password. For each request, you must supply full & accurate bibliographic information. Almost all types of materials may be requested through ILL. A journal article may arrive in 2-10 days or a book in 3-14 days (depending on where the closest library is that has that item). You will receive an email when your requested item is available. For questions on Interlibrary Loan, e-mail us at
